- 3 tablespoonsoy sauce
- 1 tablespoonrice vinegar
- ½ tablespoonhoney
- 1 teaspoonginger
- ½ teaspoonsesame oil
- ¼ teaspoonred pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoonsesame seeds
Method
- 01
Pat the tofu dry with paper towels, then cut into 3/4-inch cubes.
- 02
Heat 2 tablespoons of neutral oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add tofu in a single layer and let it sit undisturbed for 3 to 4 minutes until golden. Stir and cook another 3 to 4 minutes until crispy on multiple sides. Transfer to a plate.
- 03
Add the remaining 1 tablespoon oil to the skillet. Add broccoli florets and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to brown and soften.
- 04
Push broccoli to the sides. Add minced garlic and ginger to the center and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- 05
Stir soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and red pepper flakes into the pan. Return the tofu to the skillet and toss everything to coat. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes until the sauce clings to the vegetables and tofu.
- 06
Remove from heat, drizzle with sesame oil, and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Serve immediately over rice if desired.
Spice Tips
For more heat, increase red pepper flakes to 1/2 teaspoon or add a dab of sriracha. For brightness, squeeze fresh lime juice over the finished dish. A sprinkle of fresh cilantro adds herbaceous depth.
