  • 4 oz per personsalmon fillet (skin-on)
  • 2 tablespoonolive oil
  • 1lime
  • 3 clovegarlic
  • ½ teaspoonred pepper flakes
  • ¾ teaspoonsmoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoonchili powder
  • ·kosher salt
  • ·black pepper
  • 1 poundbroccolini
  • 1 tablespoonsoy sauce

Prep

  1. 01

    Mince 3 cloves garlic.

  2. 02

    Cut 1 lime into wedges.

Method

  1. 01

Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 02

Pat salmon dry and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.

  3. 03

Once oil shimmers, place salmon skin-side up in the pan. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden.

  4. 04

Flip salmon and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until the flesh is opaque and cooked through. Transfer to a plate.

  5. 05

In the same skillet, add remaining 1 tablespoon oil and broccolini. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until charred and tender. Season with salt and pepper.

  6. 06

Drizzle the spice mixture (minced garlic, red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, and chili powder mixed together) over the salmon. Squeeze fresh lime juice over both salmon and broccolini.

  7. 07

Finish broccolini with soy sauce. Serve immediately.

Spice Tips

This recipe balances heat with brightness. For milder heat, reduce red pepper flakes to 1/4 teaspoon. For more kick, add a pinch of cayenne along with the other spices, or serve with sriracha on the side. If you enjoy smoke, increase the smoked paprika to 1 teaspoon.

Salmon cooks quickly—don't overcook or it will dry out. For extra heat tolerance, increase red pepper flakes to 3/4 teaspoon. Skin-on salmon helps it stay moist and creates a crispy textural element.
