Ingredients

  • 1 poundground beef
  • 4 cupbroccoli florets
  • 4 clovesgarlic
  • 1 tablespoonfresh ginger
  • 3 tablespoonsoy sauce
  • 1lime
  • 2 tablespoonvegetable oil
  • ¼ teaspoonred pepper flakes
  • ½ teaspoonsalt
  • ¼ teaspoonblack pepper
  • 2 stalkgreen onion

Prep

  1. 01

Mince 4 cloves garlic and 1 tablespoon fresh ginger.

  2. 02

Cut broccoli into florets (about 4 cups).

  3. 03

Slice 2 green onions for garnish.

  4. 04

Cut 1 lime into halves for juicing.

Method

  1. 01

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking it into small pieces, until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if needed. Transfer beef to a plate.

  2. 02

Add remaining 1 tablespoon oil to the skillet. Add broccoli florets and cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until bright green and tender-crisp. Season with 1/4 teaspoon salt.

  3. 03

Return beef to the skillet. Stir in minced ginger and garlic, and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  4. 04

Pour in soy sauce and juice of 1 lime. Toss everything together and cook for 1–2 minutes. Taste and adjust salt, pepper, and lime as needed.

  5. 05

Divide between bowls and top with sliced green onion. Serve warm.

Spice Tips

For warmth, add 1/2 teaspoon more red pepper flakes or a pinch of white pepper. For extra brightness, stir in 1 teaspoon sesame oil at the end or finish with fresh cilantro.

Serve over steamed rice or with rice noodles for a more filling meal. Keeps well in the fridge for 2 days — reheat gently in a skillet with a splash of water.
