Crispy-Bottomed Beef & Cabbage Skillet
Ingredients
- 1 poundground beef
- 1 small headgreen cabbage
- 1yellow onion
- 3 clovesgarlic
- 3 tablespoonsoy sauce
- 2 tablespoonrice vinegar
- 1 tablespoonginger
- 2 tablespoonvegetable oil

Slice green cabbage into bite-sized pieces (about 4 cups).

Dice 1 yellow onion.
- 03
Mince 3 cloves garlic.
- 04
Mince or grate 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (or use 1 teaspoon ground ginger if preferred).
Method

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, breaking it into small pieces. Cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed. Transfer beef to a plate.

Add remaining 1 tablespoon oil to the skillet. Add diced onion and cook for 2 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and ginger; cook 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add chopped cabbage (it will mound up) and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5–6 minutes until cabbage softens and begins to brown on the bottom.

Return beef to the skillet. Add soy sauce and rice vinegar. Stir everything together and cook for 1–2 minutes until the liquid coats the vegetables and beef. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve hot from the skillet.
Spice Tips
For heat, stir in 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes or a squeeze of sriracha at the end. A splash of sesame oil (1 teaspoon) adds nuttiness. Chopped scallions or cilantro finish it brightly.
