Skillet Beef and Cabbage with Tomato Sauce
Ingredients

- 1yellow onion
- 3 clovesgarlic
- ½ headgreen cabbage
- 1 can (14.5 oz)canned crushed tomatoes
- ½ cupbeef broth
- 2 tablespoonsolive oil

Dice 1 yellow onion.

Mince 3 cloves garlic.

Shred half a green cabbage (about 4 cups).

Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned, about 5 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.

Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook, stirring, until the onion softens, about 2 minutes.

Add the shredded cabbage, 1 can crushed tomatoes, 1/2 cup beef broth, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir well.

Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low. Cook uncovered for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and the sauce thickens slightly.

Spice Tips
For deeper flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika with the oregano. For mild heat, stir in a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes at the end. A tablespoon of tomato paste mixed in before adding the tomatoes will intensify the savory notes.
