Ingredients

  • 1 poundshrimp (large, peeled and deveined)
  • 8 ounceegg noodles
  • 4 tablespoonbutter
  • 5 clovesgarlic
  • 1 can (14.5 ounce)canned crushed tomatoes
  • ½ cupheavy cream
  • ·salt
  • ·black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoonred pepper flakes
  • ·fresh parsley

Prep

  1. 01

    Mince 5 cloves garlic.

  2. 02

Chop a handful of fresh parsley for garnish.

Method

  1. 01

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add egg noodles and cook until al dente, about 6 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  2. 02

In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium-high heat. Season shrimp with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Cook shrimp for 2 to 3 minutes per side until pink. Transfer to a plate.

  3. 03

In the same skillet, melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, stirring constantly for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  4. 04

Pour in crushed tomatoes and simmer for 4 minutes. Stir in heavy cream and cook for 1 minute more.

  5. 05

Return shrimp to the skillet. Add cooked noodles and toss gently to coat. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste. Heat through for 1 minute.

  6. 06

Divide between bowls and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

Spice Tips

For warming heat without overpowering, the red pepper flakes are already built in. To increase warmth, add another 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes to the sauce. For deeper savory notes, stir in 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano or basil when you add the tomatoes. A squeeze of fresh lemon juice at the end brightens the whole dish.
