Mince 6 cloves garlic.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add linguine and cook until al dente, about 9 minutes. Reserve 1 cup pasta water, then drain.

While pasta cooks, melt 2 tablespoons butter with olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, stirring for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- 03
Add shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook 2 to 3 minutes on the first side without stirring, then flip and cook 1 to 2 minutes more until pink and opaque. Season with salt and pepper.
- 04
Add drained pasta to the skillet along with remaining 2 tablespoons butter. Toss gently, adding pasta water a splash at a time until the noodles are silky and coated, about 1 minute.
- 05
Squeeze juice from the lemon over the pan, scatter fresh parsley on top, and serve immediately.
Spice Tips
The red pepper flakes add subtle heat here. For more kick, increase to 3/4 teaspoon or add a pinch of cayenne. If you prefer a milder dish, reduce the flakes to 1/4 teaspoon or omit and finish with fresh basil instead.
