Avocado Toast with Crispy Bacon and Soft Egg
Ingredients
- ·bread (sourdough or whole grain, 2 slices)
- 1avocado
- 4 slicesbacon
- 1egg
- ½ tablespoonbutter
- ·salt
- ·black pepper
- ·red pepper flakes (optional)
Method
- 01
Cook 4 bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6–8 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel and let cool slightly, then break into bite-sized pieces.
- 02
In the same skillet, add 1/2 tablespoon butter over medium heat. Crack 1 egg into the pan and cook until the white is set but the yolk is still runny, 3–4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer to a plate.
- 03
Toast 2 slices of bread until golden and crisp.
- 04
Cut 1 avocado in half lengthwise, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh onto a cutting board. Mash roughly with a fork, leaving small chunks. Season with salt and pepper.
- 05
Spread the mashed avocado on the warm toast. Top with the crispy bacon pieces and the soft egg. Finish with a pinch of red pepper flakes if desired. Serve immediately.
Spice Tips
For warmth and subtle heat, sprinkle red pepper flakes over the egg. A squeeze of fresh lemon juice brightens the avocado nicely. For extra savory depth, try a thin layer of hot sauce or sriracha between the avocado and toast.
