Garlic Butter Chicken with Charred Broccoli
Ingredients
- 1½ poundschicken breasts (boneless, skinless)
- 1 poundbroccoli florets
- 4 tablespoonbutter
- 6 clovesgarlic
- ¾ cupchicken broth
- 1lemon
- ·salt
- ·black pepper
- ¼ teaspoonred pepper flakes (optional)
Prep

Mince or thinly slice 6 cloves garlic.

Cut broccoli into florets, about 2 inches each.

Cut lemon in half for squeezing.

Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.

Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once foaming, add chicken and cook for 6–7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through (internal temp 165°F). Transfer to a plate.

Add remaining 2 tablespoons butter to the pan. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

Add broccoli florets to the pan, spreading them in a single layer. Cook undisturbed for 4–5 minutes until the bottoms char and brown.

Stir the broccoli, then add chicken broth. Return chicken to the pan and simmer for 3–4 minutes to meld flavors.

Squeeze lemon juice over everything, taste and adjust salt and pepper. Divide between plates and serve with pan juices spooned over top.
Spice Tips
For warmth, add the red pepper flakes (or increase to 1/2 teaspoon). A pinch of smoked paprika adds depth. Finish with fresh parsley or thyme for brightness.
