Garlic-Butter Chicken with Charred Broccoli and Lemon
Ingredients
- 1½ poundschicken breast
- 1 headbroccoli
- 4 tablespoonbutter
- 6 clovegarlic
- 1lemon
- ·salt
- ·black pepper
- ¼ teaspoonred pepper flakes
Prep
- 01
Slice 6 cloves garlic.
- 02
Cut 1 head broccoli into bite-sized florets.
- 03
Cut 1 lemon in half for juicing.
Method
- 01
Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- 02
Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once foaming, place chicken breasts in the pan and cook for 6–7 minutes until golden on the bottom. Flip and cook another 5–6 minutes until cooked through (internal temperature 165°F). Transfer to a plate.
- 03
Add remaining 2 tablespoons butter to the same skillet. Add sliced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant, then add the red pepper flakes.
- 04
Add broccoli florets to the skillet in a single layer and cook without stirring for 3–4 minutes until the bottoms char. Toss and cook another 2–3 minutes until just tender with charred edges.
- 05
Return chicken to the skillet. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over everything and toss gently to combine. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
- 06
Serve immediately, drizzling any pan sauce over the chicken and broccoli.
Spice Tips
The red pepper flakes add gentle warmth; double them if you like more heat. A pinch of garlic powder or a handful of fresh parsley stirred in at the end brightens the dish further.
