  • 1 poundbroccoli
  • 4 tablespoonsbutter
  • 4 clovesgarlic
  • 1lemon
  • 1 teaspoonkosher salt
  • ½ teaspoonblack pepper
  • ¼ teaspoonred pepper flakes

Prep

  1. 01

    Cut broccoli into bite-sized florets.

  2. 02

    Mince 4 cloves garlic.

Method

  1. 01

    Preheat oven to 400°F.

  2. 02

Arrange broccoli florets on a large sheet pan, drizzle with 2 tablespoons melted butter, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Toss to coat. Spread in a single layer and roast for 10 minutes.

  3. 03

Remove the pan from the oven and push broccoli to the sides. Place salmon fillets skin-side down in the center, season with remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.

  4. 04

Dot the salmon with remaining 2 tablespoons butter and the minced garlic. Scatter red pepper flakes over top.

  5. 05

Return to oven and bake for 12–15 minutes, until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

  6. 06

Squeeze fresh lemon juice over everything just before serving.

Spice Tips

For a subtle heat boost, increase red pepper flakes to 1/2 teaspoon. A pinch of garlic powder or smoked paprika deepens the savory notes. Fresh herbs like dill or parsley scattered over the finished dish add brightness.

Swap butter for olive oil if preferred. Pairs well with rice or roasted potatoes on the side.
