Garlic-Butter Shrimp & Asparagus Skillet
Ingredients
- 1 poundlarge shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 1 poundasparagus
- 4 tablespoonbutter
- 4 clovesgarlic
- 1lemon
- ·salt
- ·black pepper
- ¼ teaspoonred pepper flakes

Peel and devein 1 pound large shrimp if not already done.

Trim the bottom 1 to 2 inches from 1 pound asparagus spears.

Mince 4 cloves garlic.

Cut 1 lemon in half.
Method

Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until foaming.

Add asparagus, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until just tender-crisp. Transfer to a plate.

Add remaining 2 tablespoons butter to the skillet. Mince the garlic and add it along with red pepper flakes. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through.

Return asparagus to the skillet. Squeeze juice from the lemon over everything, toss gently to combine, and serve immediately.
Spice Tips
For more heat, increase red pepper flakes to 1/2 teaspoon or add a pinch of cayenne. A splash of white wine (1/4 cup) deglazes the pan beautifully and adds brightness if you have it on hand.
For extra richness, finish with a handful of fresh parsley. Pairs well with crusty bread or rice to soak up the buttery pan sauce.
