Chili-Garlic Shrimp with Charred Broccoli
Ingredients
- 1 poundshrimp (large, peeled and deveined)
- 1½ poundbroccoli
- 6 clovesgarlic
- ¾ teaspoonred pepper flakes
- 3 tablespoonsoy sauce
- 1 tablespoonrice vinegar
- 1 teaspoonhoney
- 3 tablespoonolive oil
- 1lime
- ½ teaspoonsesame oil

Prep

Cut broccoli into florets.

Mince 6 cloves garlic.
Method

Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat until smoking.

Add broccoli florets and spread in a single layer. Cook undisturbed for 3 minutes until the bottoms begin to char, then toss and cook another 2 minutes. Transfer to a plate.

Add remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil to the pan. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, stirring constantly for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2 minutes without stirring, then flip and cook another 1 to 2 minutes until pink and cooked through.

Return broccoli to the pan. Whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey, then pour into the pan and toss everything to coat. Cook for 30 seconds.

Drizzle with sesame oil and a squeeze of fresh lime juice. Taste and adjust salt if needed. Serve immediately over rice.
Spice Tips
For milder heat, reduce red pepper flakes to 1/2 teaspoon. For more punch, add 1/2 teaspoon more or finish with a dash of hot sauce. A sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds or fresh cilantro adds brightness.
Serve over white or brown rice, or cauliflower rice for lower carb. The recipe is done in under 20 minutes from start to table.
