- 4 clovesgarlic
- 1 tablespoonginger
- 2lime
- 3 tablespoonolive oil
- 2 tablespoonsoy sauce
- ¼ teaspoonred pepper flakes
- ·salt
- ·black pepper
Prep
- 01
Peel and devein 1 pound large shrimp if not already done.
- 02
Cut 1 pound broccoli into bite-sized florets.
- 03
Mince 4 cloves garlic and 1 tablespoon ginger.
Method
- 01
Cut broccoli into bite-sized florets. Heat 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add broccoli, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 5–6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the florets are charred and tender. Transfer to a plate.
- 02
Add remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil to the same skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until just cooked through. Transfer to the plate with broccoli.
- 03
Reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic and ginger to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in soy sauce and red pepper flakes, stir to combine, and cook for 30 seconds.
- 04
Return shrimp and broccoli to the skillet. Squeeze juice from both limes over everything, toss gently, and cook for 1 minute until heated through. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, or lime juice as needed. Serve immediately.
Spice Tips
For heat, increase red pepper flakes to 1/2 teaspoon or add a dash of hot sauce. For deeper umami, add 1 teaspoon fish sauce. A splash of rice vinegar or white wine adds extra brightness if you have it on hand.
Serve over rice or noodles if you like, though it's plenty satisfying on its own. Swap the shrimp for firm white fish if preferred.
