- ¼ teaspoonred pepper flakes
- ½ cupdry white wine
- 1lemon
- ·kosher salt
- ·black pepper
Prep
- 01
Cut broccoli into bite-sized florets.
- 02
Mince 6 cloves garlic.
- 03
Pat shrimp dry with paper towels.
Method
- 01
Cut broccoli into bite-sized florets. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add broccoli, and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until just tender-crisp. Drain well and set aside.
- 02
Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
- 03
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Continue cooking, swirling occasionally, for 2 to 3 minutes until it turns golden brown and smells nutty. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- 04
Increase heat to medium-high. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2 minutes without moving them, then flip and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes until just opaque.
- 05
Pour in wine, scraping up any browned bits from the pan. Simmer for 1 minute. Add cooked broccoli and toss to coat.
- 06
Squeeze lemon juice over the pan, taste, and adjust salt and pepper. Transfer to bowls and serve immediately.
Spice Tips
For deeper warmth, increase red pepper flakes to 1/2 teaspoon or add a pinch of smoked paprika to the browned butter. A small splash of hot sauce (sriracha or your favorite) drizzled at the end adds welcome heat and brightness.
Serve over rice, pasta, or crusty bread to soak up the brown butter sauce. You can prep broccoli and garlic up to 2 hours ahead.
